Pendidikan Teknik Fisika tumbuh di Indonesia atas prakarsa ketua Fakulteit Teknik Universitas Indonesia, yang memandang perlu mengisi lapisan pemisah antara sains dan Teknologi. Pada tahun 1950, Prof. Dr.Ir. A. Nawijn, seorang ahli fisika teknik (natuurkundig Ingenieur) bangsa Belanda, ditunjuk untuk mengelola jurusan pendidikan teknik yang masih baru itu dengan nama Natuurkundig Ingenieur Afdeling. Pada tahun 1959 pendidikan teknik tersebut diberi nama Bagian Fisika Teknik yang tergabung dalam Departemen Fisika/Fisika Teknik, dengan ketua Prof.Ir. M.U. Adhiwijogo.
Rama Royani received B. Eng in engineering physics in 1964 from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. He had been the CEO of Limawira group of companies from 1986 until 2005. Then, he become the owner of LeadPro Consulting which is engaged in the management consultant. He is the creator of management tools for strength based organization and is an instructor of training-of-trainers program for business partner.

Achmad Kalla received B. Eng in engineering physics in 1979 from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. After his graduation, he found PT. Bukaka Teknik Utama Tbk. which, currently, has 5.000 employees and many sub-contractors.
“Education in university provides ways to think, methods to analyze, and how to solve problems. Engineering physics program provides analysis methods based upon knowledge of physical phenomena.
Didit Herawan graduated from Engineering Physics ITB in 1985, after graduation he entered Indonesian Aerospace Industry in 1986 and He was appointed as Deputy VP Sales & Marketing for Asia Pacific until June 1998. During his time at Indonesian Aerospace Industry, He had the opportunity to work as an IT Engineer at Boeing and he received his MBA in international marketing from Nyenrode Business Universiteit.
In June 1998 he was appointed as country director/GM of Motorola Networks Indonesia for almost 11 years. After that he received his PhD in Strategic Management from Universitas Indonesia. Now he work as dean School of Engineering and Computer Science at Bakrie University Jakarta.
